Privacy Policy

The short version: Embr does not collect, transmit, or share any of your data. There is no account, no analytics, no ads, and no server. Everything you enter stays on your device.

What data Embr stores

Embr stores the following information locally on your device, using local on-device storage (Hive) that is never transmitted anywhere:

Tasks you create, including titles and time estimates
Habits you create, including names and completion history
Focus session records, including duration and completion time
App preferences and settings

None of this data leaves your device. It is not sent to us, to any analytics provider, or to any third party. We do not operate a server that Embr talks to, because Embr does not talk to any server.

Permissions Embr requests, and why

Notifications — to let you know when a focus session or break has finished, even if the app is in the background.
Exact alarms — to schedule that notification at the precise moment your session ends.
Vibration — for haptic feedback when a session completes.
Run at startup (boot) — so a notification you scheduled before restarting your device is not silently lost.

None of these permissions are used to collect data. They exist only to make the timer's notification behave correctly. Embr's production build does not request internet access, because it has no need for it.

Third-party services

Embr does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs. No data is shared with third parties because no data leaves the device in the first place.

Children's privacy

Embr does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect information from anyone at all.

Data deletion

Since all data lives only on your device, uninstalling the app or clearing its storage from your device's app settings permanently deletes all Embr data. There is nothing stored anywhere else to delete.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes — for example, if a future version of Embr adds an optional feature that requires network access — this page will be updated first, and the change will be described here in plain language before it ships.
